Effective March 19, 2020, Burleigh County is limiting public contact and access to all of their facilities in response to COVID-19.

We're open for business and promoting alternate communications. If you have business to conduct with Burleigh County, contact the Department directly for instructions. Burleigh County Courthouse Access Restrictions

Effective 1 PM March 20, 2020, the Burleigh County Courthouse is restricting public access due to COVID-19. If you have business to conduct with any department located in the Courthouse, contact them for instructions regarding alternate communications (phone, mail, website, email, drop box).

All other access will be screened and entrance prohibited if you exhibit any of the following:

Burleigh County Meeting Protocol and Conducting Business

March 16, 2020

Burleigh County has two meetings scheduled today:
• 3:00 PM Human Service Zone Board Special Meeting
• 5:00 PM Burleigh County Commission Meeting

There are no public hearings at either meeting, and the public is encouraged to use an alternative method rather than in-person attendance:
• County Commission meetings are televised live and repeated during the week on Government Access, Cable Channel 2 and High Definition Channel 602: https://dakotamediaaccess.org/
• Stream live radio coverage from KDAK FM 102.5 FM Radio.

If you are physically attending the meeting, please sit two chairs away from the nearest participant to avoid close contact.

Interim Guidance for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of March 15, 2020

CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.

Events of any size should only be continued if they can be carried out with adherence to guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing. When feasible, organizers could modify events to be virtual.

HEALTH EMERGENCY DECLARATION, BURLEIGH COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA

March 13, 2020

Bismarck, ND-Burleigh County Commission Chairman, Jerry Woodcox, has declared a health emergency for Burleigh County.

Burleigh County Officials continue to monitor the COVID-19 activity, and Burleigh County Departments have been undergoing efforts to mitigate activity through employee education, reviewing continuity of services, and purchasing supplies for increased cleaning efforts and virus protection. An Emergency Declaration allows for utilization of the County's emergency reserve fund to assist with expenditures related to this health emergency.

Burleigh County is committed to providing services for the community. Real-time adjustments regarding our County's business conduct will be made in accordance with the ND Department of Health recommendations and publicized accordingly. Jerry Woodcox stated, "We want to maintain a level of preparedness to ensure services and mitigate the spread of the virus."
