Inspection Request Introduction
This site allows you to search permit data online. You may also create an account to submit a permit or project, track the progress and obtain licenses all online.

  • Building inspection time slots are not guaranteed. Time slots are AM (8:00am-12:00pm) or PM (12:00pm-5:00pm). Inspectors develop their daily route based on the most efficient route to complete their assigned inspections. For specific scheduling concerns, please call 701-221-3727. Onsite contact name and phone number must be added in the Comments Section.


  • You must select a time and day. If your requested time and day are not available, contact us 701-221-3727 or text 701-220-4319. We will respond with the closest time available. Review the inspection time restrictions to avoid complications.

Burleigh County Permit Refund Policy
All Building, Mechanical and Plumbing permits will be refunded at 80% if a project has been canceled after the permit has been paid. If the price of a permit was miscalculated, a refund for the difference will be reimbursed. Partial refund requests due to change in job description, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Plan reviews are non-refundable. Once a job has started and inspections have been requested, there will be no refund.

Contact us at 701-221-3727 or email burleighcobuilding@nd.gov if you require a refund. Once a permit is issued, Burleigh County may refund up to 80% of the permit fees if no work has been completed. Plan review fees are not refundable once the plans have been reviewed.

Privacy Policy
Burleigh County monitors overall site traffic and may collect individual user information in some interactive applications contained within this site. The County does not share any collected information with group or individuals outside of Burleigh County's organization. All permits are subject to public disclosure and original copies may be reviewed at Burleigh County, subject to advance notice. The County is obligated to follow NDCC Chapter 44-04-14 for records management duties.

I agree to comply with all applicable County building and zoning ordinances. The granting of this permit does not give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of any state or local law regulating construction. Further, I understand and agree that the construction for which this permit is required shall be subject to inspection by the building official or designee and such construction shall remain accessible and exposed for inspection purposes until approved. I further declare that (a) I am a contractor currently registered and properly licensed in accordance with chapter 18.27 RCW; or (b) I am the owner or authorized agent of the property for which I am applying for permit and also acknowledge that I am not a licensed contractor, specialty or general; or (c) I am otherwise exempt from the requirements set forth in N.D.C.C. 43-07-02 and will abide by all provisions and conditions of the exemption as stated. I agree that if I use any person(s) to provide labor and/or assistance, I will retain only contractors registered and currently licensed as required under the laws of the State of North Dakota. I certify under penalty of perjury that the above is true and correct.


  2. This service allows permits to be submitted, tracked, and obtain permit information of all development permits issued by Burleigh County. By submitting a permit application, you are affirming, under penalty of perjury, that all answers, statements, and information submitted with any permit application under this account is correct and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that all provisions of Laws and Ordinances governing this type of work will be complied with whether specified within the permit or not. You understand the granting of a permit does not presume to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of any other state/local law regulating construction or the performance of construction. You are also affirming you are the owner of the subject site or the authorized agent designated by the owner of the subject site for the activity proposed in the permit. Further, granting permission to any and all employees and representative of Burleigh County and other governmental agencies to enter upon and inspect said property as reasonably necessary to process this application. You affirm that all conditions set of any permit issued will be met and complied with in accordance with North Dakota State Building Code.
