Types of Exemptions

- Abatement - Application

- Improvements to Commercial and Residential Buildings -- Application

- Homestead Credit -- Application

  • You Are 65 years of age or older
    • Your income is less than $42,000.
    • Your assets do not exceed $500,000 including your homestead.
  • You are Disabled.
    • Your income is less than $42,000.
    • A physician certifies you are permanently & totally disabled.
    • Your assets do not exceed $500,000 including your homestead.
  • You are confined to a Wheelchair
    • A physician certifies you are confined to a wheelchair.
  • You are Blind
    • A physician certifies you are blind according to the statute.
  • You are a Paraplegic Disabled Person
    • Your income is less than $42,000.
    • A physician certifies you are paraplegic & disabled.

- Disabled Veteran Credit -- Application

  • You are a Disabled Veteran
    • Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) certifies your disability at 50% or greater. .
  • You are a Paraplegic Disabled Veteran
    • The VA awarded you special adaptive housing.
    • The disability does not have to be service related.
